Franklin State Forest

Tennessee Division of Forestry forest on the Cumberland Plateau near Sewanee. Its 2024 use designations open 11.5 miles of unpaved forest roads to horseback riding, hiking and biking; the 30.7 miles of foot trails, including the Perimeter Trail, are closed to horses. Access is from the lot off State Hwy 156 next to the old fire tower.
