Starr Mountain Horse Trails and Lost Corral Horse Camp

Cherokee National Forest trail complex with about 20 miles of horse trail: Starr Mountain (5.5 mi), Chestnut Mountain (5.7 mi), Bullet Creek (2.7 mi) and Burkett Ivens. Horses are prohibited in the Gee Creek Wilderness. The trailhead is Lost Corral, on Spring Creek Road off Hwy 411 between Benton and Etowah. The horse camp has 20 first-come sites with high lines, water and vault toilets, at $15 per site.
